Discovering the music
My musical career started when I was a little toddler. Although my parents didn't have a record-player and didn't follow a certain kind of music-style, there was always music at home. We owned a Hammond organ with electronic rhythm-box and my father was always playing on his acoustic guitar.

So I was always playing around on those instruments. One of the real bands I discovered, at young age, thanks to my older brother, was Queen. What a magical music they made. But that shortly followed by the thunder and lightning of KISS. As a young kid that theatre rock made a big impression on me. Those two bands would stick around me for the rest of my live.

Finding the right key(s)
I started more and more to play the Hammond and by the influence of the music of Jean Michel Jarre I decided that the keys would be my instrument to play. My parents paid me some organ-lessons but after 1,5 years of lessons, learning just 5 chords to play and with the introduction of reading the score, I decided that those lessons weren’t my cup of tea. So I started to teach myself by listening to my hero's and over the years, with the help from Rick Wakeman, Mark Kelly, Jean Michel Jarre and Keith Emerson as my virtual teachers, I developed myself as a prog-keyboard player.

After playing the keyboards in several school-bands I joined my first real band in 1991. Coldsweat was a amateur cover-band who played the hits of several pop/rock bands on small parties. Four years later I read the advert that gave me the job as keyboard-player of Odyssice. In 1996 I recorded my first album ever with Odyssice and that album, ‘Moon Drive’, was released in 1997. It was followed by a couple of performances, being the one at ProgFarm my debut.

Broading the horizon
In those days I was introduced to Tamas Szekeres, Hungarian guitarist for Omega and also as solo-artist. His manager and my then boss wanted us to work on an album together. So I travelled to Budapest to meet and talk with Tamas. We visited the Omega studio just outside Budapest. Listened to some demo's that I'd made through the years, but somehow the project never really happened.

Around that same time I met, my now good friend, John Hayes. He is known as the guitarist of the US funk-rock band Mother's Finest. I started to work with him doing the album cover-designs for his solo-projects and also did some music editing for him. I also did some remixes of a couple of songs, which were released on the CD ‘The Remixes’. It was no wonder that I also started to be his on-stage keyboard-player for a couple of shows in his own band, the John Hayes Project. The highlight so far on our collaboration was the opening show we did for KISS in Festfallhalle in Dortmund Germany.

In 1999 the band started to work on the next Odyssice album and ‘Impression’ was release in the beginning of 2000. Again followed by a couple of shows in 2000 and 2001.

Dark clouds and black shadows
The period between 2002 and 2004 was personally a dark period for me. I got divorced (what an eye opener that was!), lost my regular job (great support!), left the band (for just a few months only!), met new people and completely changed my idea of living the life. Because of that reason and many more the band was flat on its back, going absolutely nowhere. In those days I composed a lot of songs, one of them ended up on the ‘Silence’ album, namely the track ‘Memento’. 2004 saw the arrival of a new bass-player and luckily Odyssice got a new impulse of energy.

In the meantime I kept on working with John Hayes, more behind the scenes than on stage, although John invited me several times.

Exploring the East-Bloc
In the years between 2004 and 2009 I also started to travel to the formally communistic countries. My then girlfriend was original from Belarus, so I got the chance to visit this beautiful but strange country. But one of the most impressing of those country’s was Macedonia, leading up to almost living there. I met many new friends there and the country, and it’s inhabits, will always have a special place in my heart.

Finally free
In 2009 I started my company LimeMedia and quitted my daytime-job. I was totally free of bosses, giving me the opportunity to schedule my own time and business, making me a free man. One of the first designs I did was the new logo for the progressive magazine iO-Pages. 2010 started off as a year of new beginnings. We've got the resurrection of Odyssice with a new album in ten years. I started a collaboration with British singer Ian Parry for designing sleeves and perhaps playing keys in his new band. And finally I found my soul-partner in the person of Audrey, with whom I live now in the beautiful South of Limburg, The Netherlands. She also has an excellent voice, so who knows what the future will bring...

Welcome to our website, thanks for visiting and interest in our music!

As you can see and hear… I love drums and I love Ludwig drums. Drums vibrate, drums have weight, drums inspire, drums have magic! An important year for me was 1997! The fun started with the audition for Odyssice! Luckily I got the chance and I’m still enjoying the band and the music everyday! The first album I recorded was ‘Impression’, on which I played on my older Ludwig Classic Maple. After this set I tried the Yamaha Recording Birch drums for some years, which also was very fine.(You can see and hear it on our DVD recorded at RTV Noord Holland.) But… I could not forget the vibrating Classic Maple toms so here she is again:
